Welcome to Elevatd Femme!

There’s a lot of noise right now in the world of CBD – and honestly, it can be super confusing! That’s why we built this page for anyone who is wondering what all the CBD hype is about, how CBD actually works in your body, and which CBD products might work best for you.

First things first, what is CBD?

Before we get into how CBD can have positive effects on your life, let’s break down what CBD actually is.Cannabidiol (CBD) is a cannabinoid (aka, a chemical compound found in hemp) that can be extracted from the plant’s flower and leaves. For years, CBD wasn’t getting a lot of love while scientists instead focused on the mind-altering cannabinoid, THC, found in the cannabis plant. But here’s the awesome thing about CBD – it offers similar therapeutic effects to THC without the high. Today, it’s used to support the mind and body in a myriad of ways.

The Types of CBD

You may have noticed words like “isolate”, “broad spectrum”, and “full spectrum” on some CBD products describing the different types of CBD on the market. Though the wording is slight, the differences in these types of CBD are significant. Remember when we mentioned above that CBD is a type of “cannabinoid” found in the hemp plant? Well, it’s just one of hundreds of cannabinoids found in the plant, all of which have different characteristics and benefits – many of which we have yet to unlock their potential. The different types of CBD products on the market are categorized depending on how many of these other cannabinoids they contain.

Type #1: Isolate

Isolate is a hemp extract that contains only CBD and no other cannabinoids found in the hemp plant.

Type #2: Broad or Wide Spectrum

Broad or Wide Spectrum refers to a hemp extract that contains all cannabinoids in the hemp plant except THC.

Type #3: Full Spectrum

Full spectrum refers to a vibrant and diverse cannabinoid profile, meaning it preserves all of the therapeutic cannabinoids found in hemp. Cannabinoids like CBD and THC are synergistic, meaning they rely on each other to work.

All Elevatd Femme CBD is Full Spectrum, meaning it includes all cannabinoids found in the plant, including under .3% THC.

Why Full Spectrum is Important to Elevatd Femme

Cannabinoids like CBD, THC, CBG, CBN and hundreds more are synergistic meaning they need each other in order to do their job effectively. In a 2015 study, researchers found that, in comparison to CBD Isolate, Full Spectrum CBD offered higher levels of relief. This is because cannabinoids like CBD and THC are synergistic, meaning they can’t do their job without one another. It’s kind of like baking a cake. All of the ingredients work together to make a delicious end result. If you omit an ingredient or two, you still might get a similar product, but it won’t be at its best.At Elevatd Femme, we believe that our customers deserve the highest quality product, and the most effective version of CBD there is to offer. That’s why we only use full spectrum cannabinoid rich hemp extract in all of our products.

Let’s Talk About THC

Full spectrum CBD does contain THC, but under 0.3% (the legal limit) so not enough to get you “high”, but just enough to experience the full benefits of this healing plant. Curious if the THC in our full spectrum CBD will show up on a drug test? Due to the small amount of THC in legal CBD products, it’s highly (no pun intended) unlikely. Check out the article below for more insights on that if you’re interested. More on CBD +Drug tests.

The Benefits of CBD

CBD has not yet been rigorously studied with humans, but pre-clinical and clinical studies suggest that CBD has “broad therapeutic value” and can be well-tolerated by, well, pretty much everyone.

CBD works in the body by acting as a support to your endocannabinoid system (ECS), which plays a major role in balancing our bodies’ most important functions from sleep, to mood, to appetite, to bowel movements, and more. Your body naturally produces its own endocannabinoids to support this system, but just like with any other nutrient, we can have a deficiency and may need extra support, especially in times of mental and physical stress.

The most basic way CBD works with our body is by blocking the breakdown of our own endocannabinoids, allowing our bodies to use more of what it’s already naturally producing.

The typical results of taking CBD are feeling calm and balanced, lessened anxiety, reduced inflammation, and healthier sleep cycles. Benefits most of us could use a little bit more of in our lives, right? More CBD Benefits.
